# Gardener
The Gardener is an NPC that players can find in House that will upgrade Valleys if bribed with YIELD.
Upgrades play a significant role in the game's progression, offering a path for players to considerably maximize the ROI of Seeds and their overall farm productivity, while also unlocking gameplay mechanics that would otherwise be inaccessible. The following are some of the benefits players can expect to gain as they level up their Valley:
* Grant a multiplier to the locked and unlocked YIELD reward.
* Expand the number of plots available for planting on the Farm.
* Unlock the daily chest claims.
* Become a qualified sponsor.
